I don’t really know if “this” means anything so I googled the 4th of February to see what was historically significant on this day. Soooooooooooooooo I came across the Barbie doll. YAAAYYYYYYY!!!. Today was the first day of the invention of the Barbie Doll. This doll was created by Ruth Handler, who was one of the founders of the Mattel Company. Barbie was named after Ruth’s daughter. Later on, when the Ken doll was made, it was named after Ruth’s son. Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by the American toy-company Mattel, Inc. and launched in March 1959. American business woman Ruth Handler is credited with the creation of the doll using a German doll called Bild Lilli as her inspiration.
Barbie is the figurehead of a brand of Mattel dolls and accessories, including other family members and collectible dolls. Barbie has been an important part of the toy fashion doll market for fifty years, and has been the subject of numerous controversies and lawsuits, often involving parody of the doll and her lifestyle.
